The past few nights we have woken up with bug bites all over us - I found a small black bug in my pajamas ewww?

i'm completely freaked out - there are no mosquitos yet and our animals were just checked for fleas a nd hwere protection - can i put something out in the room to kill them - what fo i do - I'LL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN!!! Also, its not a tick - i know what they look like.
